Works of art live longer than our life. The desire of making and keeping may show our longing for eternity. Egypt has the ingredients of such human world. My visiting was from the close of 2004 to the beginning of 2005.
Khan el-Khalili
Khan el-Khalili is an ancient shopping area, called "Suq". We got there by subway from Saddat to Abata and a short walk. I don't think that I'm comparatively a guy who enjoy shopping in Japan ,but...I actually have fun here. Vendors say it 135 egyptian LB at first, but if I shake my head many times, it finally becomes 30 egyptian LB, that means about 80% off in ten minutes. ha ha...what's the hell the list price! Scarcely they know I'm a Japanese before they repeatedly call "YAMAMOTO-YAMA", "KAKAKU-HAKAI" and occasionally "Baza-ru de Goza-ru"...Some Japanese would have taught them. That's funny.
