Works of art live longer than our life. The desire of making and keeping may show our longing for eternity. Egypt has the ingredients of such human world. My visiting was from the close of 2004 to the beginning of 2005.
Egyptian Museum (the archeolOgical museum)
"Scribe", "inscription", "stela", "limestone", "plaster"...these words are frequently found in the labels. The museum's groundfloor follows the history of ancient Egypt and there're a lot of items, small sculptures, enormous statues and one of the first documents more than 5,000 years ago. Most of exhibits are wearing a long beard oddly enough. That seems to show the symbol of God. In these ages, the civilization was including something religious. I see. Then I went upstairs, Tutankhamn was waiting for me near Mummy Room. When the king is dead, the people cover him with a bandage and put the golden mask on his face because it's considered that the dead king's soul can recognize his body by that. Many of the antiquities from Tutankhamn's tomb were displayed in his room and his mask's eyes had been looking intently at one point absentmindedly...No Photographing Allowed in the building, Sorry, I have to leave them to your imagination.
