Egypt (Cairo / Giza, Egypt)
Egypt (Cairo / Giza, Egypt)
Works of art live longer than our life. The desire of making and keeping may show our longing for eternity. Egypt has the ingredients of such human world. My visiting was from the close of 2004 to the beginning of 2005.

the golden desert
the golden desert

I care for night view which is out of the window of the airplane. I was seated on the Aerofloat 341 flight and thinking back on the way from Japan as I gazed blankly at the golden desert of Cairo city lights. I was able to meet some people by transit at Moscow. A middle-aged Dane (I didn't have much to do with him personally. His English was so fast. I had to fire "Could you please rephrase it again?" successively.), Ethiopian Benjamin (I wonder if he could be a king on the fifth floor. Not getting VISA, we couldn't go out even one step of the fifth floor the whole day except morning buffet on the first floor. Unfortunately, he was stolen his bag at the airport and just he had to stay the hotel for two whole days 'cause there're few flights for Cuba. He was on the way there in order to study phamacy. When I parted from him, I gave him encouragement like..."Here's no newspaper, no TV in English, no retainer, but you're lucky, you can be a king here." "Yeah...ha ha. I'm missin' my girl friend living in UK, but she and Christ are always on my mind. It's all right, That's the life." laughed he. The belief can make him be casual about troubles, I suppose.), half-Japanese & half-Russian girl (she must be the cutest person of this travel. When I made a bitter struggle with Russian English at the transfer office, she spoke to me. "Are you a Japanese?" She's an elementary school student in Japan and Greece, and proficient in speaking Japanese, Russian, Greek and English. She would have profound knowledge that she is unaware of. She was on the way to Japan by herself.), a blunt Russian lady ("You shall go.", "I'll do it tomorrow."...a blunt Russian treated us aliens totally. She was so frosty, although beautiful - actually, Russian ladies were so beautiful except the staffs of metal detector -. On the other hand, a heart-warming Russian kindly coped with stuff. I caught on the reason why I couldn't use the vouchers because her English pronunciation was very clear, "Bankrupt".), each of them left something in my mind. At first, it was around 13:00 on Christmas Day of 2004 that I embarked Aerofloat 582 flight with Take at Narita Airport. You know, Aerofloat is the cheapest airline, you know? We ate in-flight meal including the driest bread in the world (if I had an atomizer, it would be used until empty), and watched some Russian movies spoken in Russian. Of course, it's Greek to me. That's how I spent boring time feeling former communism for 14 hours altogether (not including transit). When we arrived Cairo International Airport, my watch indicated 0:15 a.m. Moscow time on 27 December, so I set it 1:00 a.m. Cairo time.
